Hi, my name is Mike, and I have a problem: every time it rains and my car gets covered in water spots, I compulsively shine it up with !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! spray, because it’s so easy. I can go weeks between actual washes. Time to start buying the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Oh, Meguiar’s Quik Detailer®, how I love thee so.
(This is not a paid endorsement. I just really like the ® sign. And Meguiar’s Quik Detailer®.)

Meguiars makes some nice products man. I hate washing my car. I bought a new car in 2014, I just washed it for the first time about a month ago.

I too, use Meguiar’s quik detailer. Especially in the winter time after the drive home FROM the car wash.

I never got on with Meguiars (though I never tried the QD). I use Gyeon Cure or Gtechniw QD for great results. But one of the best I tried was Migliore QD, fantastic gloss, no smearing. Super product.

Wow. Do you apply the same principal to clothes? Or house?

I don’t care for car washing either. I just don’t have the patience for it, or the attention span. I just take it to the self serve wash every few weeks for a quick wash and rinse.

I’ll be the first to admit the main reason I got is it’s cheap at Walmart. I don’t get caught up with the esoteric detailing products, I just want stuff that makes my car shiny. Even doing the basics with cheap superstore detailing stuff makes it shinier than the overwhelming majority of cars I see driving around day to day.

I used to not have a garage. I was a huge fan of those quick detailers.

I converted to Meguair’sism despite growing up in the First Church of Turtle Wax. My only regret is not doing so sooner.

Careful doing that. You’ll create swirls and marring. I only use quik detailer as a drying lubricant. It has it’s purpose for wiping down a car after being driven to a show for example. I would not use it as a waterless car wash.

I only ever do it if the car is still mostly clean. Water spot touchup, that’s it.

Ye’, I buy small till I find what I like and then I buy bulk. Like the Gtechniq QD, £6 for 250ml (works out £24 per litre) and £38 for 5 litres (works out £7.60 per litre).
